Hey everyone, it’s Alice here from Top Marks Science
Early on
I was the kid in school that struggled in Science, until one teacher took the time to bring science to life. I’m now on a mission to do the same for others.
With a love for the living world, I pursued a degree in Biology to explore and learn more about nature around us and specialised in animal behaviour, where my dissertation took me to Africa to study lion personalities.
Alongside my degree, I took a part time job working at a local Observatory Science Centre where I delivered workshops, performed science shows and presented tours of the historical telescopes. It was here that I knew communicating science was something I loved and wanted to take further.

- BSc Biology (with honours)
- BEd Secondary School Science PGCE
- Fully Qualified Teacher Status
With years of experience in a secondary school classroom, I have supported hundreds of students aged 11-16 of varying needs and abilities through their Science journey. This has been through a challenging time with the walls of Covid that we were presented with, and it was here that I found a real sense of reward of making resources that were creative, accessible and engaging!
